1,229 words; about a 6 minute read

Mission: Revenge Of Group Omega
Location: Various locations on the Halo
Timeline: During & after the Halo's crew gets D&D

Mad blinked, when her sleeve started vibrating against her skin, struggling, to clear the fog, kicking out the nearest covering, she climbed to her feet, hearing the DCEO's voice over the comms.

Mad stood into the transporter centre and slid her gloved hand under the Vulcan's stopping him from opening a necessary panel.

"Let's just consider a few things T'Farr." Mad stepped between him and the panel. "According to my information. You have not been trained on splitters. If you were considering doing something to a splitter, that you would do on a non splitter, and if the action you did, caused me, as Damage authority, more work, because you're not in the right place, so that what you do is done to all Transportation elements at the same time, like it needs to be on a splitter. Chances are high that I'm going to beam you and the rest of general engineering............ Actually that's a bloody good idea." Mad stepped back and entered a key onto her sleeve.

Maltida appearing in the form of two hands and a mouth. Signing, Mad stopped Maltida from speaking.

"DCP protocol 666. Authorisation Maddison Mad Black." Mad spoke herself.

"Code Required."

"50361306."

"Code accepted. Transfer of all non Splitter Identified crew locked for beaming."

"Include all GE."

"GE Included."

"Set beaming commencement as seven minutes." Mad instructed.

"Seven minutes to beaming commencement. Transporter D&D control overridden. Kilo & Ross D&D functions under authority of DCE Authority." Maltida responded.

"Begin D&D Countdown." Mad instructed. She looked at T'Farr and pointed to the door. Her look said enough, and he quickly exited stage right.

Hoof grumbled at hearing Hands's voice in her NonAtmo suit say "Damage Protocol 666. Authorization 50361306". Before the transporter could hit, she made the pink disk come up on her wrist display. "Damned if I'm leaving now!" she intoned.

Without another thought, Dorna headed for the Jeffries Tube entry point in Engineering. Considering the Turbolifts would be out, she began her ascent to the Battle Bridge.

=/\=Hoof to Hands. I'm coming to your position via Jeffries Tube. Don't leave!=/\= The Tellarite called via comm badge.

Mad growled and showed her teeth. =/\+ Yes Hoof, slow down. Nobody needs to see your furry butt. =/\+ Mad stated, standing in the transporter room. She knew giving her equipment was going to come back and bite her in the butt. And it looked like today was going to be that day.

Mad thought about slithering further into what were know as the Splitter Zones, the areas that actually did all the work when the ship split/divided into three, but then she'd probably have to go back in search of Hoof, so she simply sat there waiting.

Dorna grumbled as she slipped on the occasional run up the Tube. Thankfully and her lungs burning with effort, she emerged near the Transporter Room Hands was in. Grumbling in Telllar, she ran again.

Finding it at last, Dorna slid to a stop. Grabbing her friend's shoulder, she pushed her towards the pads. "You...go...NOW!" She panted. The Tellarite went to the controls and set them to go. She skittered up, turning to Hands. "My Iron Lady's falling to pieces! Damn those pointy eared -" The last word was unintelligible Tellar. Dorna hit her communicator. "Energize!" she barked. She relaxed slightly at the feel of disorientation as the shimmer surrounded them, eyes on Hands as they disintegrated.

Mad waved her hands and the shimmer altered and they and Sin were dumped ungently down on the main command deck.

"What the hell are you doing?" Mad's sleeve asked Hoof, looking at Sin who merely shrugged. "We're not going anywhere. We're fixing the Halo before Townsend wiggles his nose and does something stupid again. Now you're going to get to see why GE hates Damage." Mad grinned at her friend. "You got the gear, now you learn to do it my way."

Striding over to the Big Chair, Mad clapped her hands, and Maltida's floating hands appeared before her hovering in mid air.

"Scan vessel for any additional organics."

"Scanning." The two hands signed and verbalised.

"Confirm all decks and areas."

"Confirming." A holographic image of the Halo appeared, and as the ship was scanned the areas turned green.

"Activate all Splitter Assets. Action Scan all Splitter Environmental Functions. Present full readings on all associated Splitter Assets. B&D's roused. Full scan. I want everything green and go. Identify trouble, malfunctions, physical or digital."

"Activating all Splitter Assets. Running Splitter Prime Authority. Switching to CCCCCCO, SSA, SCCCCCCO, DCECCCCCCO and SSPCADCECCCCCCO. USS Halo is now under the authority of Maddison 'Mad' Black, active duty...."

"Enough." Mad interrupted Maltida. "Run my level protocal's and link with Townsend. Activate FSM."

"Full system monitoring activated." Maltida confirmed.

"Crap. I thought they weren't revealant in SF?" Sin closed her mouth.

"Sometimes Waylin, arguing is not worth the time or the effort. It's going to happen whether you want it or not. Catastrophic Crisis CiC Control Command Co-Ordinator or CCCCCCO, is Constructor. SSA, - Splitter Supreme Authority - Is used by both SF and Constructors. SCCCCCCO, Splitter Catastrophic Crisis CiC Control Command Co-Ordinator is Constructor - DCECCCCCCO - Damage Control Engineer Catastrophic Crisis CiC Control Command Co-Ordinator is also Constructor, SSPCADCECCCCCCO Splittler Supreme Prime Construction Authority Damage Control Engineer Catastrophic Crisis CiC Control Command Co-Ordinator is also Constructor. SF have contracted out the building of most of their ships, stations, outposts, in the agreed contract Constructors got some of their titles ratified by SF and vice-a-versa. Because I got invited to assist at the construction phase, I ended up with a mish mash of irrelevant titles."

"Riiiiiight." Sin stated and said nothing else.

"Now. Understand I aim to have a working ship before the Admiral wiggles his nose. What happens here, now and through this process does not get discussed. There are reasons why I do this. So let's get started. Areas that we won't need will be locked down and be under the control of Splitter B&D's. You two ladies are working following my instructions. Hoof we're not wasting time doing it by the book. We're doing it the Mad way. I realise that people will have problems, but Halo was created for a purpose, Townsend does not know what she's fully capable of. He will in time. If he needs what he doesn't know about, before then then it's my call. You don't have access to do what you're about to learn. So, don't let it melt your brain. Questions?"

Dorna shook her porcine head. "Nope! I'm good." She crossed her arms over her chest and added. "Now, are we gonna get this Telleran Explitive show back to a Starbase or what? I'm sick of using duct tape & hope to get us anywhere!"

"No, we're going to sit and wait for Townsend to need help. I don't leave my people to land in shit." Mad tossed a roll of duct tape at Hoof. "Learn to love it." Getting a nod from Sin, Mad headed off the command deck, into the one working TL and down to the first of the three splittler level groupings and the first items on her list.

Sin looked at the CEO. "Welcome to Mad's world. Forget being a GE. You're doing it Mad's style. Either buck up, or go sit in the corner. GE doesn't exist here."
