Mission:
Baptism By Fire
Location: Star Base 113
Timeline: 2 Months After Janeway Posioned, and 2 Days Before Resoulte Mission Begins.
The soft hum of the starbase's systems created a quiet backdrop as Commodore Janeway stood outside Admiral Townsend's office. It had been two months since the incident—a poisoning that nearly ended her career, if not her life. The recovery had been grueling, with multiple surgeries and weeks of bio-containment, but Janeway had proven resilient.
Commodore Janeway stood anxiously waiting near Townsend's office. She looked very uncomfortable being on the Base. In the early morning, she received a special message summoning her back to work as soon as possible, given the urgency of the admiral's tone in the pre-recorded message. Then Janeway walked into the office.
As the doors slid open, Admiral Townsend looked up from his desk, his expression unreadable. He gestured for her to enter, the atmosphere thick with the weight of what was at stake.
“Commodore,” Townsend began, his tone neutral but with an undercurrent of concern, “I’ve reviewed your medical records, but I need to hear it from you. Are you ready for this mission?”
"Admiral, I haven't been able to catch up on what's been happening for the last two months due to my illness, and I'm worried that my captaincy might have suffered. I'm still capable enough to command Voyager and take on this mission you are asking me. Despite appearing resilient, I need to be sure I can do my job," Janeway said.
Janeway’s been struggling to hold back tears as she spoke with the admiral; she was feeling lost and confused since her sudden poisoning incident as well as the growing process of recovering from multiple surgeries and having to be placed for several weeks inside of biocontainment it's must be a good blessing that Starfleet Medical gave her a new good donor heart.
“You will do good, this is just a diplomatic matter, so it’s should be easy” Townsend replied
